About Continuum Travel Therapy

Is Continuum Therapy Partners a staffing agency?

No. Continuum Therapy Partners is the therapy provider at the facilities where our clinicians work. With our internal travel program, you are hired directly by Continuum Therapy Partners for a travel assignment within our network, through our staffing arm, Continuum Travel Therapy.

What does "no middleman" actually mean for me?

It means the people recruiting you, employing you, and supporting the therapy team at your assignment are all part of Continuum. You can talk directly with our recruitment team and the leaders connected to your facility when you have a question or need help.

Am I a W-2 employee or a 1099 contractor?

Our internal travelers are W-2 Continuum employees, with the perk of travel assignments.

What's the difference between Continuum and a traditional travel therapy agency?

You still get a travel assignment and a pay package built for that assignment. The difference is your direct connection to the organization providing therapy at the facility. We can talk with you about the clinical setting, the team, and what might be available after your assignment, because we are involved in those decisions.

Getting started

What disciplines does Continuum place on travel assignments?

We recruit physical therapists (PT), physical therapist assistants (PTA), occupational therapists (OT), certified occupational therapy assistants (COTA) and speech-language pathologists (SLP). Openings depend on the needs across our facility network — you can see every current travel opening and filter it by discipline.

Can new grads apply for travel assignments?

Yes — please reach out. We will talk through your clinical experience, licensure, and the support available at the facility you are interested in.

We offer new-grad support through our Regional Vice Presidents and Directors of Rehab to make sure you are set up for success. Our travel SLP roles require the appropriate state license and CCC-SLP.

How long does the onboarding process take?

It varies by assignment and by state. Licensure, background checks, health requirements and facility-specific items can all affect the start date.

Once we identify a good fit, our team will walk you through what is needed and keep you updated along the way — and it is generally much faster and smoother than a traditional staffing agency.

Do I need multiple state licenses, or does Continuum help with licensure?

You need the appropriate active license for the state where you will work. You do not need licenses in multiple states just to talk with us, though knowing where you are licensed is helpful.

We can discuss the requirements and timing for an assignment, along with any approved license reimbursement, for each assignment within the Continuum network of facilities.

Pay, benefits and housing

How is travel therapy pay structured?

Your package includes a taxable hourly rate and, when you qualify, separate housing and meals-and-incidentals stipends. We will show you the parts of the package and the estimated weekly total before you accept an assignment.

Stipend eligibility depends on your distance from the assignment and on how the package is split between hourly pay and stipends.

Do I get benefits from day one?

Full-time travelers can enroll in Continuum benefits, including medical, dental and vision options. For new hires, coverage is generally available the first of the month. We will make sure you have the benefits information before you make a decision.

Does Continuum offer housing or a housing stipend?

Yes. Eligible travelers receive a weekly housing stipend as part of their pay package, and you arrange the housing that works for you. We can also point you toward housing resources we know of while you are looking.

Are license and travel costs reimbursed?

Travel reimbursement may be included in your offer — up to $400 to the assignment and $400 from the assignment. License costs may also be reimbursed when approved.

We will spell out what applies to your assignment, including any receipt requirements and the timing of your reimbursement, in your written offer.

Assignments and career path

How long is a typical travel assignment?

Most are 13 weeks, but there is flexibility depending on how long you are available. We will review the dates and facility details with you before you accept.

How many hours a week will I work?

We guarantee 35 hours for each assignment and schedule 40, unless the job posting says otherwise.

Can I extend or transfer to a new assignment?

Yes, when there is a continued need and it is a good fit for both you and the facility. We also want to talk with our current travelers about other openings in the Continuum network as their assignments wind down.

A future assignment depends on availability, licensure and approval, but the goal is to give our travelers a path to keep going with us.

What kind of clinical and HR support do I have during an assignment?

You will have the facility's Director of Rehab and Continuum's regional clinical leadership for day-to-day clinical support, along with our HR team for employment and benefits questions. Our recruitment team stays in touch through the assignment, too — there is no guesswork about who to call when something comes up.

Can I convert from a travel assignment to a permanent Continuum position?

Absolutely, if there is an opening and it makes sense for you and the team. Some therapists love moving from one assignment to the next; others find a facility where they would like to stay. We are happy to have that conversation either way, so you can decide what is best for you.
